Typically when people refer to Southside Edmonton they generally mean the Southside of the North Saskatchewan River. However, the expansion of the city’s “southside” can mean different places to different people.
Southside Edmonton has a variety of neighbourhoods. Some of the more mature neighbourhoods like Strathcona and Garneau date back to the early 1900’s, you can still find some gorgeous historical homes.
You can also find some of the wealthier neighbourhoods in the city like Windsor Park and the Riverbend Area.
Southside Restaurants
There are some fantastic places to grab a bite to eat on the Southside of Edmonton depending on what you are in the mood for. DaDeO is great for that touch New Orleans. Ampersand 27 offers a fantastic fine dining menu with a beautiful atmosphere. If you are wanting a different breakfast experience Mil Creek Cafe. There are plenty of restaurant choices along Whyte Avenue. Block 1912 and Cacao 70 are wonderful eateries for chocolate lovers.
Southside Shopping
There are many places to shop on the Southside of Edmonton like Southgate Centre and South Edmonton Common but if you want to stick to local business areas like Whyte Avenue and Ritchie Market.
