Westmount area in Edmonton is quickly becoming a hot spot in the city because of all of the local Edmonton restaurants and eateries. It’s proximity to Downtown, Groat Road and the Yellowhead, make it an ideal location for if your needs include traveling around the city. Most of it’s development took place in the 1910’s, so you will see many historical homes in this neighbourhood. Because of the age of the neighbourhood, you will also note several infills in this community.
Westmount Restaurants
There are some fantastic restaurants in this community and most can be found along 124 Street. Some of Edmonton’s best restaurants can be found along this strip, some of my favourites:
Duchess Bakeshop: If there is one place that was the turning point for this street, it’s this local bakeshop. Easily one of the most consistently popular place for show stopping desserts and mouth watering treats.
Woodshed Burgers – The best place to get a tasty juicy burger, made with Fresh Alberta Beef that has been ground daily.
Northern Chicken – For some of Edmonton’s best fried chicken, there is no better place than this cute place. You will come for the chicken and be hooked by the incredible side dishes like Dorito Mac n Cheese or Duck fat fried smashed potatoes.
Tiramisu Bistro – One of my favourite places for brunch and the Lift Me Up Market that is connected can make it a one stop shop for local staples.
Zwick’s Pretzels – Yum. Pretzels, sweet, savoury, butter, salt. With dip or without. Zwick’s Pretzels are fantastic!
Westmount Shopping
The shopping in the Westmount is close and convenient. If you are looking for a Safeway or Home Depot, the mall has you covered. There is some marvellous shopping in High Street and along 14 Street as well. Some amazing stores include:
Paddy’s Cheese
