Downtown Edmonton is located on the North side of the North Saskatchewan River which runs through the City. This mean it is home to some of the best view in town.
In recent years there has been some major construction downtown, including building the new Ice District, whose centrepiece is Rogers Place. The latest Valley Line LRT Extension will pass through the Downtown core.
The Ice District has multiple venues, hotels and residences including The Legends Private Residences and the prestigious SKY Residences.
As you would expect with any city core, Edmonton Downtown has several Skyscrapers that are home to many businesses. There are also plenty of shopping in Edmonton City Centre, Commerce Place, and Manulife Place. There are two Farmer’s Markets that call Downtown home, The Downtown Farmers’ Market is open all year, and Al Fresco on 4th is outside and is open during the warmer seasons.
Some Edmonton Downtown attractions include The Royal Alberta Museum and the newly renovated Stanley Milner Library
City Hall and the Alberta Legislature can also be found downtown.
